Ok. Here is how to play. If you have never played a play-by-post rpg, you will definately need to read this. If you have played one, still read this because our rules are just slightly different.
A play-by-post rpg is where you have a character and in forums, you post what your character is doing, creating a story between you and the other players. There are narrators who pretty much control the game and the NPC's. You will know when someone is a narrator when the forum says they're the moderator of the town board. And near theyre avatar it says "Narrator of ******"
So that's pretty much what a play-by-post rpg is. When your character application is complete, start posting in a villiage. Click on one of the villages (not diamond city) and start your story there in the topic that says [START HERE] in the title. If you dont know what to write just say how you got in the city. Look for jobs too. Talk to the NPC's and see if they need any help with anything.
If you want to move to the appraiser's house or weapon shop or whatever, just explain your character walking in that direction and in the bottom of your post say [Exit to *****] When you arrive say [Enter from *****] This way, people know where you are and will cause less confusion. To leave a town, just say [Exit to ****] and...you know what else to do. The same goes for the Vandel Territories. But dont go there until you're level 20 with a group.
Groups are very important. If you meet a character, you might want to invite him/her into your group. When you get a group, you're ready to fight vandels and stronger monsters. Most groups stick together, but you can always join one temporarily or become a mercenary.
Combat is very simple too. Just explain what you're TRYING to do to the opponent and the narrator will tell you the outcome. If you're using too much tengeki the narrator will tell you that you are tired and you wont be able to hit the opponent that well. Remember, the narrator rules the game so dont argue with him/her or he'll make a biting clam bite your head off. ;D
So remember its just writing, but you only control your own character. If you are still confused, just observe what other people have posted in the forums.
If you have any questions just post them in the Q&A board and we will answer them as soon as possible.
